Juniors on the Move – Teams Championship
Newcastle, Hunter and Central Coast Juniors on the Move “Teams Championship” was played during August in conditions that challenged even those hearty golfers. Big thank you to those parents who continued to drive to Paterson on the off chance we would play!!
Following a morning of heavy rain and maintaining a close eye on the radar Regional Territory Manager Mark Ingrey made a big call and declared it fine to continue as planned. What a decision it turned out to be with rain slowing to light drizzle and even stopping during the tournament played over 9 holes at Paterson Golf Club.
Once again our host’s were fantastic providing a BBQ for the players and parents as we waited to hit the course. Unfortunately we cancelled the hour clinic due to weather but it wasn’t going to stop the juniors playing on perfect greens and a fun course.
They enjoyed their time on the course in the traditional 2 person ambrose championship. The winners for 2015 were Jasmine Vesper (Singleton GC) and team mate Nathan Spierings (Morisset GC). The team took home some great prizes and will share the hosting rights of the perpetual trophy for the next few months.
Next month Juniors on the Move will play at Toukley GC (home of 2016/17 State Championships) in a combined round with Juniors on the Move Sydney.
