Tura Beach claim the 2017 Far South Coast Encourage Shield
The Tura Beach team has enjoyed success in the final of the 2017 Far South Coast Encourage Shield.
The Tura Beach team won the final against Pambula-Merimbula with the final match going to the 18th hole at the Eden Gardens Country Club, a win to Tura Beach gave them the overall victory.
The team members on the day were Kate Storck, Brodie Cook, and Duke Creary. The other team member who helped the team make it to the final was Casey Cook who was unable to compete in the final as she was competing in major pennants in Sydney.
The Tura Beach team had played very well in their regular season matches and were excited about the final. The players were nervous as they were without their most senior player, Casey. The up and coming youngsters held their nerve and showed they have what it takes to take out the 2017 final. It was also fantastic to see the matches were played in such great spirit even though they were close.
The Tura Beach team and the Pambula-Merimbula Team will now combine to form one very strong team to go on to compete for the State Encourage Shield Championship. Judging by both teams tenacity in the final, the combined team will be very hard to beat.
