Schools Visit Golf Course
Shortland Waters Golf Club played host to 70 school students during the past month with Our Lady of Victories and Maryland Public School visiting the club for their respective golf days.
Both schools were keen to experience golf and join the ever-growing list of schools working with Jack Newton Junior Golf to provide a school golf program.
Teachers from both schools were taken through a morning training session that will allow them to provide in school golf programs at their school in the future. Following the training the teacher’s normal class of students arrived at Shortland Waters for a BBQ lunch followed by 4 hole “Modified Golf” on the course.
Both students and teachers were eager to test their new skills and the results were not only pleasing but above the expectations of participating students.
The partnerships that have been establish between both schools and Shortland Waters Golf Club will ensure a “Golf Community” will develop while providing students with ongoing golf education at school and their local golf club.
