Exciting News for Juniors in the Sutherland Shire
This year the format for the David Hirsch Memorial Junior Trophy has changed. The new initiative will see all four Sutherland Shire club junior events become part of the David Hirsch Memorial with the overall trophy being awarded to the junior with the best aggregate stableford score from all four events. This winner can be male or female.
The events are
- Cronulla Junior Open - July 6th
- The Ridge Junior Open - September 23rd
- Woolooware Junior Open - September 25th
- Aron Price Junior Tournament (Kareela Golf Club) - December 17th
Juniors will need to play all four events to be eligible to win the David Hirsch Memorial Junior Trophy. Each event will have their own daily prizes as well as special prize vouchers.
The David Hirsch Memorial Junior winner will receive the trophy as well as return airfares to the Gold Coast, accommodation and theme park entry to the value of $1200.
All prizes for the overall David Hirsch Memorial will be announced at the new David Hirsch Day. This will be a fun day held at Sylvania Par 3 and opened to anyone that has participated in any of the junior opens (registration forms will be handed out at each event for this day). It will be free green fees and a fun format of two clubs only. There will be prizes on the day and free BBQ sausage sizzle and drink. It will be a relaxed event with juniors free to dress as they please (maybe even in costume) and enjoy a fun year of junior golf in the local area.
