2016 Junior Seaside Classic
On the 11th September the Port Macquarie Golf Club held the Junior Seaside Classic. We had a perfect day for the juniors and a great day was had by all.
In the 4-hole competition we had 16 players, 5 girls and 11 boys with the youngest competitor just 3 years of age. What a great time to start playing golf. The winners of the 4-hole competition were Ciarran McCallum in the boys and Millie Dwyer in the girls. Both winners (who are participants in the Tuesday afternoon junior clinics with Club Professional James and Port Macquarie Golf Club junior Oli Payne) are pictured in the top photo above.
We also had a 9-hole competition that had 15 players take part (8 girls and 7 boys). The girls winner was Ella Scaysbrook from Port Macquarie Golf Club (another Tuesday clinic participant) and in the boys category the winner was Beau Stockman from Wauchope Golf Club.
In the 18-hole event there were 18 entries (11 girls and 7 boys). The winner of the girls was Jasmine Driscoll from Sydney and Ben Morgan from Kew Country Club.
All of the participants had a great day, following the game of golf each player enjoyed a bite to eat from the bbq and a bottle of water from the pro shop. A big thank you to Nick Payne, Shannon Miller, Kerrie Jourdant and Kel Tremayne, Chris Farrell and Greg Christie for their hard work on the junior committee.
Finally thank you to the volunteers who came out to help with scoring and the bbq and helping the juniors with the marking of the score cards.
