Another successful year for JOM
Juniors on the Move is played monthly with young golfers from across the region learning new skills, meeting new friends and enjoying our great game.
Each season the juniors improve their skills so transition into weekly 18 hole competitions becomes fluent. The skills learned will set them up for great things on and off the course.
In 2015 Juniors on the Move Newcastle and Hunter extended into the Central Coast with 35 juniors participating in the program. During the year our juniors played on various courses throughout the three regions and also enjoyed a number of events with the Sydney JOM program.
December is always a busy time for all, however a majority of our JOM participants were able to make our annual Christmas party hosted this year by Morisset Country Club.
The day is fun with each junior receiving a participation trophy and enjoying a BBQ before heading out on course to participate in the parent and child two person Ambrose.
The Ambrose event is more about bragging rights than anything and this years winners were son and father team Harry and Ian Atkinson who shot an amazing six birdies in the nine holes. This capped off a great year for Harry as he was also awarded the regions Juniors on the Move player of the Year.
Harry along with his parents attended the annual Jack Newton Junior Golf Sponsors and Junior Presentation Day held at the amazing Concord Golf Club.
Juniors on the Move Newcastle, Hunter and Central Coast will commence in February 2016 with the season calendar already complete and will be posted on the JNJG website soon.
