2016 Queanbeyan Junior Open
On Sunday 1st May 2016 the 38th Queanbeyan Junior Open was held with 45 golfers competing in the three divisions; Colts Under 24 Men’s, Under 18 Boys, Under 18 Girls, and seven in the Sub Juniors. Despite the horrible windy conditions a strong field hit off on time through the front nine and back nine tees with nervous swings trying to keep the ball in bounds on the 9th tee. The Sub Juniors teed off the 150 metre markers with the help of our Club Captain Gail Goiser walking around the 8 holes played.
After the round was completed, hair was brushed, and score cards handed in all the competitors sat down to some of Restaurant Bread & Putters fine pizzas and soft drinks from the bar. Our club professional Jake Nagle started with the presentation of trophies and prizes and Arthur Walters the founder of the Junior Open was again present to congratulate our winners and have some photos taken to celebrate their victories.
