Junior Open at The Coast Golf Club
After the very sad passing of William (Billy) Lindwall who was a greenkeeper at The Coast Golf Club for almost 20 years and a Member of the Coast Golf Club for over 30 year, a trophy in his name was honored at The Coast Junior Open on Monday the 21st of December.
It was great to see 50 players from NSW, QLD and the ACT converge on The Coast Golf Club to take part in the first Billy Lindwell Memorial Junior Open.
The day started with registration and a sausage sizzle to get things underway on what started out as a very hot and humid day.It was evident early that the Sausages were not the only things sizzling as Jason Hong (Concord GC) quickly got it to 5 under through his first 11 holes and looked very much in control. There were many other juniors playing very well early in their rounds on the very picturesque course. The local knowledge was definetly helping the The Coast GC juniors as member JJ Pergrini was able to shine with an incredible 48 points. This was his best ever round of golf and what a great time to produce it.
There were many other very impressive results on the day and they included:
