Walcha Junior Golf Day
Perfect weather greeted us in the small town of Walcha, with a junior clinic being organised in conjunction with a members Memorial Day.
Throughout the day children and keen golfers from the local community learnt the basic fundamentals of golf which are the key to improving and becoming a more consistent golfer. These included: grip, stance and alignment.
After playing several skills games including ‘hit the bullseye’ the children went over the importance of having a practice swing/pre shot routine, in addition to enjoying putting games on the sand greens.
Following the clinic, we all enjoyed a wonderful BBQ lunch in conjunction with parents and members of the local community.
It was then out onto the course for a 9 hole Ambrose event which saw the children put everything they learnt into action.
It was great to see such a wonderful opportunity being provided to the Walcha locals and there was definitely a great turnout. I expect big things to come out of the junior golfers in Walcha.
