Junior Golf on the Far South Coast
The District Junior Golf Clinic was held at the Catalina Country Club on 7th-8th April. Twenty one juniors enjoyed the two days of learning with lots of fun and games.
Day 1 saw Matthew Campbell and Luke Grinham take the juniors through their paces. Matthew did a lot of short game practice and games. Luke helped the other juniors with their long game on the driving range. There was a small break for lunch before a big smiley face was etched into the practice putting green for the kids to practice their length control with the putter.
Day 2 did not look very promising in the morning with some big clouds rolling in. We were lucky to see the rain go around us and we had a day on the course playing a fun Ambrose competition in one big group. There was probably more rivalry between the coaches than the kids who really enjoyed their time on the course working on the new techniques. In the end it was team Grinham who was triumphant winning on the last hole.
Matthew and Luke are both looking forward to the next district clinic to be held at Catalina on 23rd-24th July.
