ACT Participation Days
For the last two years School Sport ACT (SSACT) have organised participation days for ACT schools. The program is called ‘Just Play’ and has been driven and implemented by Liz Chesterton of SSACT.
On Monday 12th September 2016 Sue Harrison from JNJG and Gail Goiser from the ACT Monaro DGA presented golf to 60 students from ACT Primary Schools. The students rotated through a variety of sports including, triathlon, AFL, netball, touch football, cricket, fencing, just to name a few.
The Goulburn region participation day was held on Tuesday and Wednesday 13th and 14th September 2016 at Car Confoy Playing Fields, Goulburn. This event is named Gouburn SPACEXPO and is a Sports and Cultural Expo organised for Goulburn region schools. As always, both days ran very smoothly, thanks to some hard work by Alan Caldow and his team. This year students from Kindergarten to Year 6 attended.
JNJG’s Luke Grinham and Sue Harrison, and Andrew Groves, PGA Professional of Goulburn Golf Club presented the golf sessions.
Presenting two golf activities provides for twice as many students to be exposed to golf. Over the two days 651 students experienced the joys of golf.
