Concord Pair Champions at Campbelltown
(7:00pm - Monday 10th June 2024)
Michelle Bang and Bo Chung have won the rain-impacted 2024 Macarthur Junior Masters at Campbelltown Golf Club.
After heavy rain caused the closure of Camden GC and the tournament was reduced to 18 holes, Chung was the best of the younger brigade who took to the course on Sunday. The 15 Year-Old posted a four under par 66 which held up on Monday, despite a number of challengers going close.
In the Girls Division, Bang put on a clinic right from the very start, flying out of the blocks with a par at the 10th (her first hole), followed by birdies at the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th. The 17 Year-Old dropped a shot at the difficult 18th hole, before picking up two more shots on the front nine to win by three. Rachel Lee (Avondale) was the only other player to finish in red figures, signing for a two-under par 69.
Held in conjunction with the 2024 Macarthur Junior Masters was the inaugural JOM Masters, the second signature event of the JOM Season following the JOM Medal back in the April School Holidays. The two-round nine-hole event was played on the back nine at Campbelltown GC each day, with more than 50 players registering to take part in the tournament. Boys and Girls were split into four divisions, with JOM players from around NSW and the A.C.T taking part in the two-day event.
The third and final JOM Signature Event will take place in the September / October School Holidays, with the JOM International taking place at Rydges Resort in the Hunter Valley, the same week as the Jack Newton International takes place at Cypress Lakes (15 - 17 Years) and The Vintage (12 - 14 Years) and Rydges Resort (Under 12 Tour).

Chung the Player to Catch at Campbelltown
(7:00pm - Sunday 9th June 2024)
Recent Illawarra Junior Masters Champion Bo Chung (Concord) is the player to catch after the opening round of the 2024 Macarthur Junior Masters. After heavy rain caused the closure of Camden GC and the tournament was reduced to 18 holes, Chung was the best of the younger brigade who took to the course on Sunday.
The 15 year old reeled off six birdies on the testing Campbelltown layout, finishing with a four under par 66 to lead the tournament by two shots on the opening day. Levi Park (Kooindah Waters) was the next best, finishing his tournament at two under par. Local star Joey Eason (Campbelltown) added another Junior Masters
The 16-17 Year Old Division get their chance to chase down Chung on Monday, with 65 or better needed to claim the overall trophy.
The Girls will also get their chance to shine on Monday morning, with the Girls Division getting underway from 8:00am.
The highlight of the opening round belonged to two 12 year olds from Oatlands GC, who scored matching hole-in-ones on the same hole! Ricky Fang and Donovan O'Connor secured the rare feat on the difficult par 3 6th hole, their first hole-in-one in tournament competition.
2024 Macarthur Junior Masters Reduced to 18 Holes
(9:00am - Saturday 8th June 2024)
The 2024 Macarthur Junior Masters has been reduced to 18 Holes after Camden GC had to close due to further unexpected rain on Friday evening.
Following the course inspection yesterday afternoon, Camden GC received a further 12mm of rain in two unexpected downpours (the first at approximately 3:30pm and the second at approximately 6:00pm). Those two downpours took the total rainfall well over 100mm for the week.
Following another course inspection on Saturday morning, all the work the course staff had done over the previous 48 hours to give us a chance of playing this weekend has been ruined, with the golf course closed until further notice. There will be no play at Camden GC this weekend for the Macarthur Junior Masters.
As a result - the 2024 Macarthur Junior Masters will be reduced to 18 holes, played at Campbelltown GC only.

2024 Macarthur Junior Masters - Tournament Preview
(3:00pm - Wednesday 6th June 2024)
Over 210 players are set to compete at Campbelltown and Camden Golf Clubs starting this Sunday as the 2024 Jack Newton Junior Golf Macarthur Junior Masters kicks off.
This year's competition features one of the strongest fields, with both 2023 winners returning to defend their titles.
Sam Cascio from the Australian GC, fresh off his win at the Australian Junior Championships, and Rachel Lee, who has achieved numerous victories over the past year, are key contenders. Both were also part of the victorious NSW Junior State teams in Perth.
Other state team members participating include Toby Farrar, Harry Gourlay, Camilla Kim, and Lara Thomsen from the Australian GC, Vidur Subramaniam from Ryde Parramatta GC, and Kayun Mudadana from NSW GC, who was also the Australian Junior Runner-up.
Sophia Chau from Gungahlin Lakes, an ACT Junior State Team member and the winner of this year's Murray River Junior Masters, is also in the lineup.
Another significant contender is Ann Jang of NSW GC, the 2023 Australian Junior Champion.
Recent Illawarra Junior Masters winners, Bo Chung from Concord and Kiara Connolly-Jackson from Kooindah Waters are also in the running, along with Wagga Wagga Junior Masters champion Mirabelle Naaman from Liverpool GC.
In the female division, players to watch include Michelle Bang from Concord and Zoe Arcus from Cromer, both of whom have notable wins under their belts.
The tournament will tee off from 7 am, with players competing at both courses over the two days.
Sunday will also mark the inaugural Juniors on the Move Masters Event. This event is part of the new Juniors on the Move (JOM) ‘Signature Event Series’.
It was designed to provide major style JOM events within an already expansive JOM Tournament Calendar and foster a community where young golfers from across the state can come together and enjoy golf in a social and friendly environment.
Fifty children will compete in the first-ever event, traveling from all over the state to take part.
