JNJG Golfers at NZ Age Group Championships

Concord Golf Club's Shelly Shin has fired the only under par round of the day to finish in second place in the NZ Women's Age Group Championship.  Shelly won the Under 17 Division after she recorded rounds of 77,74,71.  She finished three shots behind NZ Amateur Champion Julianne Alvarez in the overall standings.  Julianne will be heading our way in October as a part of the New Zealand team participating in the Srixon International. Amelia Mehmet-Grohn (Coffs Harbour) was the other female member of the JNJG team and shot scores of 84,80,85 to finish in a tie for 27th overall.

In the Men's Age Group Championship Cromer Golf Club's Robbie Hogan was the best placed boy from the JNJG team, finishing in a tie for 35th with rounds of 79,77,76 at the Harewood Golf Club.  Isaac Noh (Avondale) was also part of the JNJG team but unfortunately had to withdraw during the first round.  Rotorua's Peter Lee won the Boys Overall total and was the only boy to finish the 54 hole event under par with rounds of 74,70,69 for a total of three under par.

Well done to our four JNJG members on their performance over the week.  The extremely cold weather certainly made it a challenge for all players and it certainly was a very different experience for our JNJG team, who are not use to playing in such cold temperatures.
