Illawarra MyGolf Program
In 2014 JNJG hosted the inaugural JNJG Junior AM at The Grange Golf Club. The event was a huge success and raised over $12,000 for junior golf in the Illawarra Region. With the funds raised from this event Golf Illawarra in conjunction with JNJG developed a MyGolf program to run across all of the clubs in the Illawarra and Southern Highlands region.
The Illawarra MYGolf Program was a huge success with over 80 kids signed up to attend one of the nine programs that was offered within the Illawarra region. The program ran for 10 weeks and started on February 7th and ran through to late April. The clinics were held on various days and times with some clubs even running two clinics per week. The nine clubs participating in the program were Russell Vale, Wollongong, The Grange, Port Kembla, The Links Shell Cove, Jamberoo, Kiama, Highlands, Moss Vale.
This program was the first stage in the Golf Illawarra Junior Development Plan. The next stage to implement will be the Illawarra Beginners Golf Program which will begin in July and open to both adults and juniors giving them the opportunity to participate in twice a month clinics and also have access to various golf clubs within the Illawarra region.
The 2015 JNJG Junior AM will be held on Monday 29th June at Port Kembla Golf Club with all funds raised going to continuing the development of junior golf in the region.
